In this role, the Radiographer II performs diagnostic imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring supervision of technical detail. Performs technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and innovative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs radiographic procedures in accordance with departmental guidelines to provide the physicians with the highest quality of diagnostic images.
  • Provides assistance to the Radiologist during radiographic procedures to expedite patient care and quality of life.
  • Radiographer II as dedicated OR technologist provides assistance to the OR physicians and are liaisons to the department. Radiographer II (OR) specialize in OR procedures and maintain the proficiency of the equipment utilized
  • Provides leadership guidance to the radiographer I, as well as mentorship. Assesses, plans, provides intervention, and evaluates care for each patient based on their ages to avoid unnecessary radiation exposure.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies necessary for radiographic procedures and performs daily tasks to ensure patient safety.
  • Maintains current licensure and educational points to ensure expansion of job knowledge.

Position Requirements:

Minimum Required:
  • Associates Degree
  • Specify Degree(s): AAS in Radiologic Technology
  • 3-5 years of previous job-related experience

Licensure/Certifications:

Required:
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
  • Illinois Emergency Management Agency Certification (IEMA)
  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) from American Heart Association
  • Registered Radiographic Technologist
