JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Quality Control Technician

Location: Fort Wayne, IN

Specific Requirements:

  • Performs all required testing on raw materials, in-process and finished goods.
  • Performs first piece inspection on all product lines to assure proper set-up of filling and ink-jet coding equipment, also tests all small platform scales at beginning of workday for accuracy.
  • Audits manufacturing process daily for compliance with all product quality parameters.
  • Records all test data, properly completing all necessary reports, filling and maintaining test data.
  • Tests and assists in the investigation of product complaints.
  • Assists in the evaluation of obsolete, rejected and returned products for reprocessing.
  • Maintains neatness and orderliness of the Quality Control test lab.
  • Reports all spills and leaks, equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, accidents, near-miss accidents and material shortages immediately to the Production Supervisor.
  • Works with production to see that all Stonclad rework material is handled in a timely manner.
  • Is responsible for all Pigment Feeder duties for Stonclad.
  • Is responsible for Receiving of all Bulk raw Materials (Railcar and Tank Truck).
  • Assist in hazardous waste handling when needed under the guidance from production management / supervisors or RCRA certified employees.

Background Requirements:
  • High school diploma at least (1) year QC experience in a manufacturing environment or two years (2) years college in a scientific degree program (biology, chemistry, or physics).
  • Must pass standard eye examination (corrected or uncorrected) and must pass standard color/tone testing.
  • Must be capable of wearing Company standard respirators as qualified by a fit test performed by an authorized agency.
