Quality Test Engineer I

This is a position on the Insurance Quality Assurance Team. The candidate hired into this position will spend his / her time working on both software development and testing activities, based on the current priorities and needs of the team. The candidate also will be tasked will process improvement and compliance to deliver high-quality software products and services successfully and consistently on a timely basis.

The ideal candidate would have a good understanding of software development and QA processes,

a willingness and interest to learn new things, and a desire to explore opportunities to enhance existing processes and methodologies.

This is an entry-level position in Quality Engineering that is responsible for learning QA methodologies and writing automation software to test our applications.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • SQL Queries
  • Proven experience with object-oriented programming in Java
  • Understanding with developing and testing web services applications
  • Nice to Have: BDD knowledge using the Gherkin format
  • Excellent problem analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be a self-starter and be able to find solutions that meet the teams needs
  • Flexible with hours depending on the project needs
  • Able to multi-task and adapt quickly
  • Demonstrated passion for maintaining exemplary levels of quality assurance


ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • To design, code and maintain automated test cases
  • Under the guidance of senior-level engineers, successfully implement development automation processes, coding best practices and code reviews
  • Perform security static and dynamic scans
  • Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders
  • Resolve basic technical issues as necessary
  • Keep abreast of new technology developments
  • All other duties as assigned
