Plans, coordinates and directs quality programs designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Formulates and maintains quality and environmental objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.

  • Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
  • Directs, participates in, supports, & acts as Management Representative for IATF16949, ISO 9001, & ISO 14001 programs.

  • Ensures all company required quality records are current and accurate.

  • Held accountable for output of Quality Assurance department. Maintains monthly quality report to include outside and inside quality failures.

  • Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities and products.

  • Plans, promotes and organizes training activities related to product quality and reliability.

  • Maintains calibration for all measuring equipment and devices.

  • Assists and works with other departments and personnel to solve quality problems, Pre Production Approval Process studies (PPAP), internal audits, Control and Analysis of Non-Conforming Product, Monitoring and Reporting on SPC trends (GR&R and Cp/Cpk analysis), and Control Plans and PFMEAs.

  • Investigates and adjust customer complaints regarding quality and coordinates supplier quality issues through purchasing department.

  • Participates in Divisional staff and management teams. Put together & leads Management Review Meetings.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises employees in the Quality Assurance department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
