As a Quality Inspector at Caterpillar Inc., you will investigate defects reported by warranty, interplant AQE, and Customer Service DSN to understand impact and root cause. You will provide defect investigation summaries to communicate root cause, containment inspections/rework, and corrective actions.

* Containment of quality events may include but are not limited to the inspection of all in house product
* Documenting the status of all units to include performing rework and repairs for the contained population
* Provide daily communication with Quality Supervisor regarding containment status for assigned defects
* Communicate with Operations, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Planning, and Engineering, when cooperative efforts are required to obtain resolution
* Support material disposition for failure analysis activities
* Represent Quality in Griffin NPI process to include validating quality system readiness
* Participate in NPI build follows to identify potential areas for design and process improvements

Required Qualifications
* Candidates must be a full time DPP Griffin Caterpillar employee
* Must have technical knowledge of Griffin product, and manufacturing processes
* Must have successfully worked in multiple work zones/operations within production
* Must have computer experience to include sending emails, accessing Tools Net, EPIX, HVC, and REDI
* Must know how to read prints to include EC levels and impact
* Candidates must exhibit excellent written and oral and written communication skills
* Experience with torque measurement equipment to include datamytes.
* Experience with NPI pilots

Desired Qualifications
* Experience with IPV test equipment
* Assembly experience in multiple value streams, multiple commodities
