Specific Functions

· Ensure product is being built properly against predetermined specifications and performance meets:

o Contract agreements with the providers, suppliers, and vendors

o All active advertised and documentation information about the product.

· Prioritize and manage part and product quality issues until:

o Root cause has been identified.

o Solution(s) to resolve nonconforming product has been implemented.

o Short term corrective action and long term preventative action has been recommended, approved, and implemented

· Measures and understands:

o Product performance in the field

o Performance of providers and vendors (manufacturers and suppliers)

· Support efforts that intend to improve the customer value proposition such as:

o VICO: Value In - Cost Out

o Engineering Changes

o Validation efforts

o Quality improvements

* Reduction of part and product quality issues with our external and internal customers.


* External: The buyers of our products
* Internal: Recipients of parts in the supply chain in the manufacturing of products
* Leverage providers, suppliers, and vendors to consistently meet agreed quality standards, specifications and contract agreements.



Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities

· BS degree in Engineering with a minimum of 4+ years of experience in Manufacturing, Testing, Compliance, Quality Control, Process Management and related disciplines.

· Proven experience working in a capacity that represents the role of an Engineer.

· Must have experience communicating and coordinating quality improvement initiatives through manufacturing facilities.

· Should have experience in lean manufacturing concepts and reducing cost through yield/quality improvements. Demonstrated proficiency in use of a structured problem solving process and tools, such as 8D, 5 Why's, IS IS-Not, Fishbone diagrams, and Pareto Analysis to name a few.


* Proficient in at least one Enterprise Resource Management software (i.e. SAP)
* Certification in Quality Engineering and Project Management is a plus.

· Active membership in American Society for Quality (ASQ) is a plus.
