The Quality Assurance Technician supports the Manufacturing Operations Team on a day to day basis by auditing procedures to ensure compliance with company and industry specifications. This is a hands on position reporting to the Quality Engineer. This position is a 2nd shift position at the Mueller Foundry location.

  • Support Quality planning activities through the calibration and availability of proper measuring equipment.
  • Support quality processes and testing methods.
  • Read and interpret blue prints and measure various parts to drawing requirements. Perform product and process audits as required to support manufacturing and quality requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain various calibration system records.
  • Participate in customer and third-party audits.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects.
  • Support quality processes and testing methods.
  • Collect, analyze and summarize data, information and trends to prepare recall lists and calibration reports.


Required Skills:
  • Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience.
  • 7 to 10 years ' inspection, quality assurance, or calibration experience
  • ASQ Certified Quality Technician
  • GD & T experience
  • Experience with 8D, APQP, and FMEA.
  • Experience with GAGEtrak or similar calibration systems
  • Experience with CMM's, optical comparators, torque testers, pressure testers, etc.
  • Manufacturing experience in metal turning, assembly, and foundry
  • Shifting daily responsibilities
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Works well with team to address questions & concerns, while servicing internal & external customers
  • Calibrating a variety of gages: fixed, adjustable, thread, etc using the following equipment --
    • Super mic
    • Comparator
    • CMM


Required Experience:
  • Two (2) to five (5) years' experience as a quality inspector in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge in lean manufacturing and six sigma.
