The Quality Technician is the first level of support to the production team. This position is responsible for daily quality tasks and supports / guides the production team when a food safety or quality issue arises.

How You Will Make Contributions That Matter...

  • Monitors product quality and production procedures to ensure quality and GMP standards are met.
  • Interacts with and assists production personnel with quality issues. Provides instruction and guidance to production personnel as needed to ensure quality requirements and standards are met.
  • Assist with maintaining the hold and positive release program.
  • Review all quality records for completeness and accuracy, and communicating issues to shift supervisors for follow-up.
  • Perform pre-operational line inspections. Support sanitation supervisor to ensure cleanliness, food safety and accuracy of sanitation documentation (as needed).
  • Perform Pre-Operations Swabs and support environmental sampling, including air and water.
  • Monitor equipment and structure for food safety risks.
  • Perform microbiological testing and analytical testing of source and finished products.
  • Perform quality audits including: specification verification, date code verification, label verification, quality testing including leaker tests, Oxygen / Carbon Dioxide tests, metal detector verification, SPC weight control verification, and pulling retained samples where required.

You Are Best Suited For The Role If You....
  • Minimum two-year degree in a science or food related field
  • Experience in the food manufacturing/dairy/cheese industry preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally up stairs
  • Ability to climb stairs frequently though out your shift
  • Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employee's and supervisors
  • Ability to interpret SOPs and guidance given
  • Ability to think critically
  • Ability to withstand extreme temperature changes. Ranging from 30⁰F- 70⁰F
