Hiring rate of position: Commensurate with education and experience

Location of position: Lincoln, NE
Examples of Work
Core tasks performed by this position include:
(1) Direct supervision of three unit administrators and activities/programs conducted by those units;
(2) Monitor, review, and provide appropriate level of approval of personnel actions, grants/grant applications, sub awards, contracts, travel requests, time and attendance, payments, and other official actions. Reviews and submits grant proposals as needed. Monitor and review budgets to ensure fiscal responsibility of programs. Participates in management responses to audit findings and disallowances;
(3) Write, review, edit, and present policies, regulations, and legislation. Represents the department to internal and external stakeholders in legislative matters;
(4) Advises the Director of Public Health and serves as a member of the Division of Public Health Leadership Team;
(5) Assist in accreditation, strategic planning, health assessment, health improvement planning, workforce development, and performance improvement when these projects and activities involve the three units directly supervised or the division as a whole
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: A Master's Degree in public health or related fields such as healthcare administration, public administration, business administration, or law, plus five years of increasingly responsible managerial, administrative and operational experience involving policy development, service delivery or government operations, including supervision and management of professional staff. Relevant experience in lieu of the master's degree will also be considered.
