CUMULUS MEDIA | Knoxville is hiring a full time Promotions Director to work directly with the Digital, Sales and Programming departments to develop and execute successful promotional concepts for Cumulus Knoxville station(s) that meet with our ratings and revenue objectives. We're looking for a highly motivated, quick-thinking, creative, great problem solving, organized individual that is available to work nights and weekends. Our ideal candidate should possess an extremely good work ethic, is a self-starter, and has the ability to work in a fast-paced office environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and executes all on-site logistics for daily appearances and live broadcasts
  • Works directly with Sales to organize an average of 10-20 appearances/events per week
  • Communicates event schedules, duties, security access, managing on-site set up, etc. to on-air staff, clients, promo crews, sales reps, and station management
  • Works directly with the Program Directors on the execution of on-air and online contesting, as well as management of prize inventory, and assists with the communication of contest execution to the programming staff
  • Records events (i.e. photos, videos, audio, and social media measures) for station promotions and events
  • Schedules daily on-air contesting. This includes with AE's, promoters, etc. to obtain approved copy, images, etc.
  • Prepares contest rules, waivers, release forms for on-air, digital, social media, and other contests
  • Writes and schedules on air promos. Responsible for incorporating client content as sold.
  • Creates copy for station(s) contests and features, including pages dedicated to partnership programming/promotions.
  • Creates content for station(s) website to ensure the website reflects station brand in a positive and relevant manner. This includes additional media (i.e. photos, video, as needed.)
  • Writes weekly email to station(s) database ensuring station and client content is included, as promised and scheduled.
  • Develops and executes major station events/campaigns including contesting, sponsor/client coordination, event logistics, hospitality, production, etc.
  • Collaborates with Account Executives to coordinate client promotions. Joins sales calls with AE's as needed
  • Attends evening and weekend station events including client appearances, concerts, etc., as needed
  • Oversees and coordinates the Social Media aspects of assigned product brand.
  • Works with Promotion/Sales/Programming departments to develop successful promotional concepts for station
  • Answers incoming station(s) listener email and respond to listeners' requests, concerns, etc.

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Experience with event planning/execution preferred, but not required
  • Highly organized and excellent time management skills
  • Light labor is involved
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to successfully organize multiple projects simultaneously within a deadline for various radio station formats and clients
  • Strong understanding of digital and social media to promote brands is a must
  • Requires in-office business hours and will include additional hours out of office, including nights, weekends, and some holidays
