Job Summary:

The Project Control Specialist assists in the oversight of project completion activities in our within our established way of working including management of time, budget, and quality standards. Collaborating closely with project managers and team members, they collect, analyze, and communicate project data to accurately report the progress health of projects in regularly scheduled meetings.

Responsibilities as an individual contributor include but not limited to: Collection and processing of progress updates in Microsoft Project and other tools where progress is reported. The leading of project control meetings to disseminate project information. They manage project schedules, optimize procedures, coordinate with Project Managers, and ensure efficient completion of project deliverables.

Additional Information:

  • Primary work schedule: 3 days per week in the office with two days at home.
  • Very occasional travel to project meetings at other regional offices may be required.
  • International travel: None expected at this time but with growth of business this could change. Valid passport a plus.
  • Advance notice of any travel will be given.
What you will do:
  • Coordinate with project managers and team members for accurate and timely reporting of project status and performance metrics, updating Microsoft Project Online plans accordingly.
  • Facilitate Project Controls meetings presenting accurate project health and progress data in established format.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers and Sales Team to ensure visibility and accuracy of incoming opportunities in opportunity vetting meetings: "Timeline Meetings."
  • Facilitate project controls meetings and attend and function as backup for project Timeline meetings, provide training to project leaders on key aspects of planning and control including reports and tools.
  • Monitoring the scheduling, budget, and performance of company projects utilizing Microsoft Project Professional.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present progress forecasts, budget, and delivery impact information in project control meetings to ensure the team is informed.
  • Utilize existing project control tools to manage scope, schedule, and costs changes effectively, utilizing change current management processes.
  • Monitor schedule and app data quality utilizing Power BI data quality. Data cleaning and harmonization skills required.
  • Identifying potential project health and progress risks from available data suggesting mitigation strategies as required.
What you have:

Degree Requirement:
  • Degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, or another relevant business area. Transferable field experience in project planning considered.
Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational and customer project plans.
  • Verifiable proficiency/expertise in Microsoft Project (Project Online, Primavera, or other planning tools) required. No exceptions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Teams, and SharePoint particularly.
Effective communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Ability to communicate, collaborate, and build trust across a wide range of people, dealers, internal partners, engineers, and leadership team.
  • Excellent virtual and in-personal skills: Teamwork and collaboration skills. Ability to facilitate meetings.
  • Assumes accountability for personal technical performance and holds others responsible for theirs.
Data Gathering and Reporting: Knowledge of tools, techniques, and processes for gathering and reporting data.
  • Data analysis skills and familiarity with Microsoft Power BI or Tableau reporting a plus.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with fast-paced activities. Multi-tasking skills and flexibility essential.
  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics.
  • Certification or strong interest in project management is a plus.
