Position Summary

Program Manager of Strategic Initiatives oversees the fulfillment of high-level program initiatives that align with organizational strategic goals. This position coordinates activities between multiple projects with or without directly managing them. This position manages the main program, giving detailed attention to program strategy, project delegation, and program implementation. This position has a large responsibility to ensure that all the team members understand how to work together and coordinate their efforts on the way to a larger goal.

This position will lead a program focused on bringing early stage technology to market in the field of electric motors and drives. This program will operate in a fast-paced, high-energy, start-up environment to drive speed to market and accelerated commercial success. This position will coordinate with senior leadership, internal teams, external partners, 3rd party certification and government agencies to achieve program goals. This position will be accountable for the program to stay on schedule and on budget.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic program initiatives with expected long term revenues in excess of $100M
  • Develop and manage budgets up to $10M
  • Be accountable for delivering against established program goals
  • Oversee multiple project teams, ensuring program goals are reached
  • Identify key requirements needed from cross-functional teams and external vendors
  • Coordinate and assist in negotiating contractual agreements
  • Maintain organizational standards of quality and performance
  • Develop program assessment protocols for evaluation and improvement
  • Analyze, evaluate, and overcome program risks, and produce program reports for management and stakeholders
  • Travel < 20%
  • Work closely with project sponsor, cross-functional teams, and assigned project managers to plan and develop scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for initiatives
  • Planning and monitoring program execution
  • Leading and coordinating internal and external meetings
  • Managing and coordinating with external partners
  • Preparing program documentation and steering committee presentations
  • Managing program budget
  • Coordinating legal documents negotiation and execution

Position Requirements

Education: B.S./M.S. degree, in engineering, business or related field.

Experience: 5+ years in an advanced management role (preference given to those with program management experience)
