About the Department
The University of Chicago Medicine's Center for Asian Health Equity is the only research center in the Midwest to address the diverse health care needs of Asian Americans. The Center builds teams that span disciplines and sectors across the University and diverse Asian American communities to study Asian American health disparities, translate evidence into practical interventions, conduct public education, and use data to inform health policy. A vital part of the Center's mission is its strong and sustained community engagement with more than 25 Asian American organizations across the Chicago metropolitan area. Through this engagement, the Center elevates Asian American voices and enhances Asian American representation in conducting and participating in community-engaged research. The Center fulfills a critical need to improve the health of these underserved populations to advance health equity.
The Center for Asian Health Equity (CAHE) is seeking a highly motivated Program Manager to work closely with faculty and researchers in the Center to advance the agendas of programmatic efforts including colorectal cancer prevention/access to care; and other public health program efforts. The person in this position will serve as a program and grant dissemination and sustainability expert as well as an internal documentation associate for our colorectal cancer prevention projects. This person will play a crucial role in advancing the programmatic and technological solutions with our health system partners. In addition, this person will serve as primary community event/outreach lead on other projects as needed.
- Works directly with CAHE Program Operations Director and leadership for advancing the efforts of our colorectal cancer prevention projects and spread of technological and marketing solutions within grant programs and the Center.
- Leads the implementation of technological solutions with health system partners under the direction of the technology program leadership.
- Leads the implementation of colorectal cancer prevention project with health system partners and other sub-programs to address colorectal cancer disparities under the direction of the Program Director.
- Manages the daily operations of health system engagement and partnerships for all implementation efforts (includes expansion sites for the Ilcoloncares.org site).
- Manages all aspects of ILColonCARES.org portal - engagement and retention of partners, expansion of portal, track utilization and provide rapid resolution to issues.
- Manages Project ECHO series and facilitate sessions with health systems.
- Coordinates, participates, and engages in all meetings and events with research team and with health system partners.
- Builds and maintains partnerships with local health departments.
- Maintains detailed meeting notes from implementation meetings.
- Maintains documentation of colorectal cancer programs to support outcomes identified in the work plan.
- Assists with preparation of funder reports; progress updates; data reporting; development of timely materials for dissemination to relevant stakeholders (including the local public health departments; local, regional, and national advocacy orgs; and academic research institutions).
- Ensures necessary reports/documentation are submitted to on time and in appropriate formats to all granters/stakeholders when needed.
- Conducts data collection, needs assessments, and analyses to support program planning and evaluation.
- Plans and conducts quality assurance reviews and recommends changes as appropriate.
- Interacts with faculty, researchers and staff for committee work or information.
- Performs other related work as needed.

Technical Skills or Knowledge:
- Relevant work experience.
- Professional experience in academic institutions and/or public health.
- Quality improvement experience in health care.
- Experience working with minority populations.
- Experience working at community health centers.
- Knowledge of colorectal cancer prevention, general public health, quality improvement, project management, adult learning methods and understating of issues related to access to care (from the community and among health systems).
- Facilitate small-large group meetings in-person and electronically and train others.
- Knowledge of program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google software (e.g., Google Docs, Sheets, Drive).
- Willing to learn new technological applications and new skills.
