Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Learning Initiatives and Student Success, the incumbent will serve as the TRIO Student Support Services Director and oversee the federally-funded TRIO Student Support Services program and implement activities that serve students with academic and financial need. The incumbent is responsible for a range of activities to ensure the retention, good academic standing, and completion of students including educational planning, tutoring, weekly workshops, career education, financial literacy programming, and cultural experiences. Supervision is exercised over professional and clerical support staff. The Program Administrator (WCC) - TRIO Student Support Services Director has the following responsibilities for the grant management and program administration for the U.S. Department of Education TRIO Student Support Services grant:

• Ensures the delivery of all program aspects is met to support the TRIO Student Support Services' grant goals and objectives for student performance measures and ensures that activities are on track to support success of objectives.
• Oversees and monitors procedures, operations, and record keeping systems to ensure compliance with the U.S. Department of Education regulations and college policies to include but not limited to participant eligibility documentation, personnel time and effort reporting, program-related correspondence, and grant award notifications.
• Compiles and maintains data to prepare federal interim and/or annual performance reporting and additional reporting requested at the college or federal level.
• Prepares and administers annual budget; coordinate with Office of Institutional Advancement/Grants Management to review annual activities and related budget.
• Manages the day-to-day program operation and maintains a visible presence as TRIO SSS program leadership, and is the point of program contact for students, WCC staff, external partners, and the funding agency.
• Hire, onboard, supervise and evaluate counseling staff and tutors; conduct regular staff meetings; familiarize all staff with SSS program goals, objectives and responsibilities.
• Conducts outreach and interviews with participants students based on TRIO program eligibility criteria and identify a matched control group.
• All other duties, as assigned.

Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess one of the following:

(A) A Bachelor's Degree and three years of experience in the field of education, educational administration, or analyses of customer needs, program operations, marketing or customer services.

(B) The satisfactory completion of 30 credits toward a Master's degree may be substituted for each year of the experience as defined in (A).

The successful candidate will have experience implementing programmatic activities that serve students with academic and financial need. The successful candidate must possess excellent written and oral communications skills; and an ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while remaining organized. They must also have a proactive nature; exceptional judgement; and a collegial and team-oriented temperament. Proficiency in software systems including Microsoft Office applications is required. The ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information; a strong student-centered orientation; and an ability to work with a team of diverse faculty, staff and students are essential. Experience working in a performance-based, grant-funded environment is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working with federal TRIO programs and supporting community college students is preferred.

POSITION EFFECTIVE: The position will remain open until filled.

SALARY & BENEFITS: The starting salary is $79,822. Additional compensation with seniority steps maximize at a salary of $105,944. WORK SCHEDULE: The work schedule is Monday-Friday: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
