Our Clarksville, TN facility is growing! Business is booming and we have added several million dollars in printing and finishing assets into our state of the art facility. We are searching for Supervisors that are passionate about employee engagement, safety, quality and process improvement

Position Purpose:

The Production Supervisor leads and supervises a production shift with responsibilities for safety, quality, productivity, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the supervision of hourly employees with respect to safety compliance, quality, time cards, vacation approval and coverage, and attendance
  • Drive a work environment that motivates and empower employees to meet and exceed expectations for productivity, quality, waste, housekeeping, and safety
  • Collect and report daily on equipment results versus targets for volume, waste, downtime, etc.
  • Coordinate with Scheduling to ensure that daily customer requirements are being met
  • Communicate with Maintenance regarding scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) as well as unscheduled downtime in an effort to optimize equipment performance
  • Lead day-to-day effort to maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc. and the implications on worker safety, emissions, and hazardous waste
  • Ensure that Food Safety policies and practices are followed and understood
  • Responsible for creating and implementing employee development plans for hourly employees
  • Develop and deliver hourly employee performance appraisals in compliance with standards set by Human Resources
  • Other duties as assigned to advance the mission of MCC

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in a related field, can take 5 or more years manufacturing supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience Managing in manufacturing environment required with exposure to prepress, printing, and/or finishing (must have been a people manager) preferred.
  • Must be able to work D Shift. a 12-hour rotation 6 pm -- 6 am that rotates between 3 days and 4 days a week.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to serve as a Lean Six Sigma process owner and/or team member
  • Ability to effectively communicate to various internal and external audiences in both person and various electronic media
  • Ability to manage time and work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to work with internal and external individuals, demonstrating a high level of professionalism
  • Ability to use and a working knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, Publisher, and Explorer)
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Enthusiasm for learning and personal growth
  • Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skill

Physical Demands:

Works in a manufacturing environment and will be required to wear hearing, foot, and/or other personal protective equipment while performing duties in a manufacturing setting. Must be able to move freely throughout. May, on a continuous basis, stand/walk for up to 12 hours per shift as well as stoop and kneel frequently. May handle, feel and reach for items in and around press area, also write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting and/or move up to 40 lbs. may be required. Vision: close vision, distance and color vision to distinguish color variations, peripheral and depth perception as well as the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually medium to loud. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. Must be able to work overtime as required by workload and customer mandated deadlines. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
