<ul><li>Participate in the design, implementation and ongoing management of major site applications and subsystems</li><li>Own back-end services like Hadoop data warehouses, front-end services like Messenger and Newsfeed, infrastructure components like Memcache infrastructure, and everything in between</li><li>Write and review code, develop documentation and capacity plans, and debug difficult problems live, on some of the largest and most complex systems in the world</li><li>Work together with relevant engineering teams, sharing an on-call rotation for the reliability of service</li><li>Partner alongside the best engineers in the industry</li><li>Work on code and systems that will be in production and used by millions of users all around the world</li><li>Ensure that Facebook's services run smoothly and have the capacity for future growth</li></ul>

<ul><li>Employer will accept a Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Position also requires completion of a university-level course/research project/internship/thesis, or 6 months of experience in the following:</li><li>Coding in at least one language: Python, C++, PHP, or Java</li><li>TCP/IP network fundamentals and UNIX system concepts</li><li>Configuration and maintenance of common applications: Apache, Memcached, Squid, MySQL, NFS, DHCP, NTP, SSH, DNS, or SNMP</li><li>Capacity planning for large-scale internet service architectures</li><li>Troubleshooting, including diagnosing low-level hardware issues to large scale failures within datacenter clusters</li><li>Building large, highly-scalable performant solutions</li><li>Software development tools: Code editors (VIM or Emacs) and revision control systems (Mercurial, Subversion, GIT, or Perforce)</li><li>Software development in a Unix environment or data processing environment</li><li>Linking core web technologies system design and configuration to form an end-to-end solution</li></ul>
