JOB DESCRIPTION

ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:

The Product Stewardship Specialist is responsible for supporting Day-Glo's diverse markets served including many of which are highly regulated. Responsibilities include communicating anticipated regulatory changes related to markets served, geographic regions, and specific chemicals under regulatory scrutiny. This individual will need to use professional judgment to manage complex regulatory challenges having multiple interpretations to meet business needs while adhering to corporate ethical and legal conduct guidelines.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (other duties may be assigned):

  • Serve as a point of contact to the business for all product safety and compliance issues.
  • Creates and maintains regulatory information, statements and documentation in compliance with international and country specific legislation (e.g. product dossiers, registration certificates, Safety Data Sheets, label data, GHS classifications, Dangerous Goods classifications, worker safety or environmental risk assessments and product regulatory quality documentation.
  • Provide technical expertise and value-added product stewardship services to internal and/or external customers and their commercial partners, both proactively and in response to requests for support.
  • Ensure customer new product approval data requests and significant changes to product labels and SDS's are communicated in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with market-specific requirements in specific end-use applications.
  • Serve as gatekeeper in protection of confidential business information from disclosure to customers and/or 3rd parties without proper business case/justification and protection.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Supply Chain and Operations organizations and various business functions to encourage product stewardship principles and practices throughout the product life cycle.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS degree in chemistry, toxicology, or related scientific discipline from an accredited college/university.
  • One year in a product stewardship, regulatory, or compliance position, or other relevant industrial experience is preferred. Familiarity with reading chemical testing reports or analytical chemistry reports.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and appropriately manage priorities. Self-motivated and comfortable working in a team environment.
  • Detail oriented and results driven with highly effective decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
