Job Description

Producer, NJ PBS
NJ SPOTLIGHT NEWS, headquartered at the Agnes Varis NJ PBS Studio in Newark and New Jersey City University, strives to engage the community and increase public awareness of critical local issues.

The Producer will pitch story ideas, research, coordinate and plan interview segments or reporter packages for the NJ SPOTLIGHT NEWS broadcast with Briana Vannozzi. Segments or packages are between 2 and 5 minutes in length, possibly with emphasis in a particular subject area. The Producer will also work closely with an assigned reporter, the editorial team, graphics team, editing team during all stages of the production process from story development through post-production. Additional duties, as assigned.

Qualifications include:

* A minimum of five (5) years of experience in TV news production;
* Strong research, news writing and copyediting skills;
* Exceptional ability to write for video and edit using Adobe Premiere;
* Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines;
* Knowledge of up to date graphics creation and live video production processes;
* An understanding or NJ issues, stories and politics.
