Job Description
Reporting to the Executive Producer, Arts & Culture, the Producer will plan and coordinate the complete range of activities involved in the production of a series of episodes and large event type productions and stage captures for Great Performances.

The Producer supervises the in-house production staff and coordinates with wide range of freelance employees needed for these large productions. In addition, the Producer will liaise, as necessary, with various other departments, including publicity, production services, finance and legal. Specific responsibilities include:

* Researching and pitching programs, executing the production plan, and supervising the editing and delivery to PBS and other partners the final program;
* Executes the production plan, supervises editing and delivery to WNET/PBS and other partners the final program;
* Writes and edits content in support of program development;
* Additional duties, as assigned.

The Producer position may also work on other programs within the Programming Unit.

Qualifications include:
* A minimum of four (4) years' experience in television program and post production;
* Prior experience working on multi-camera event programming;
* Strong writing and editorial skills; Research ability;
* Exceptional planning, organization, problem analysis, teamwork and decision-making skills;
* Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines and to problem-solve when difficulties arise.

Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.

Candidates with the ability to edit video are preferred.
