NASCAR is looking for a Producer to direct, manage and coordinate a successful production of projects from inception to completion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversees the production of assigned projects from initial concept through scripting, storyboarding, production, and distribution
  • Uses talent, skill and knowledge of best practices to edit material to specified lengths and reassemble segments in sequences that present story with maximum effect
  • Evaluates and selects scenes in terms of dramatic and entertainment value and story continuity
  • Writes, rewrites, combines, and polishes scripts and storyboards, as necessary, to prepare for production
  • Provides overall strategic direction and ensures that project goals, objectives, milestones, and deliverables are achieved
  • Reviews budget and expenditures of projects for conformance to budgetary restrictions
  • Represents company, acting as liaison to independent producer of television series produced for network broadcast
  • Determines key roles necessary to produce specific project
  • Determines, allocates, and monitors technical and financial resources necessary to complete product
  • Coordinates and manages activities of project team members, ensuring that project tasks are completed on time and within budget
  • Reviews production to ensure objectives are attained
  • Understands and follows the company's rights and clearances practices

Travel required: up to 25%, including weekends. Most be flexible in work schedule.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises assigned staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and a minimum of five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Needs to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

Proficient on company provided hardware and software including Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of Adobe editing software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid driver's license

Skills and Abilities

Able to work flexible working hours to accommodate deadlines

Detail oriented

Ability to build and maintain professional relationships

Other Qualifications

General knowledge of camera, audio and other television production equipment

Deep knowledge of auto racing, its personalities, and history
