Overview

SUMMARY

Global Asset Technologies, LLC, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Procurement Manager for the Consequence Management Support Center, Lexington, KY. Position serves as the Procurement Manager and performs a variety of procurement duties. Requires an understanding of government contractor procurement procedures, US Government procurement procedures and requirements of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR). Utilizes a web-based work order system to coordinate purchase requests.
Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, coordinate, and enforce policies, procedures and productivity standards.
  • Interpret Government regulations and apply as appropriate to work situation.
  • Comprehensive understanding of automated work management systems (Maximo) and other various computer applications such as Microsoft Office.
  • Adheres to government rules and regulations, (ensuring Supply Technicians understand and follow FAR/DFAR requirements), company policies, and contract requirements.
  • Compiles records, updates, and maintains a computerized logistics database for accountable property and parts (Maximo).
  • Manage staff results by communicating job expectations, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Manage current staff of 11 Supply Technicians.
  • Extensive communications and interactions with a variety of individuals and working environments.
  • Originates necessary documents/forms and to query various computer work systems to extract information.
  • Coordinates with accounting office as required to maintain accountable finance records and solve special billing issues and problems
  • Performs expediting of material and supplies as required.
  • Interfaces with military customers.
  • Complete understanding of Supply Technician positions for Supply/Maintenance purchases:
  • Locates materials, parts and assemblies and identifies a vendor based on availability of the item(s) and pricing.
  • Coordinates with vendors to fulfill supply chain requirements. Coordinates service contract needs, material, parts, and maintenance services.
  • Procures property through authorized sources and competing vendors to provide the government the best value.
  • Coordinates and purchases supplies and material based off anticipated receiving date of material, parts as assemblies in accordance with requisition received for all types of work documents, warehouse stock reorder and other pertinent requests.
  • Performs various lower classified duties, such as, but not limited to, file maintenance, workspace clean-up, and telephone answering.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

Education and Work Experience
  • Associates degree or higher.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office
  • Multiple years of purchasing agent experience for large construction or contract support company or corporation.
  • Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFAR) for contracting operations.
  • Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision, relying heavily on prior professional experience and knowledge of local and state regulations.
  • Ability to work as part of a dedicated team of professionals in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and written with internal and external clients and co-workers.
  • Ability to follow direction a must.
  • Determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to complete each task assignment.
  • Must be comfortable with high intensity work environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret level security clearance, granted interim clearance within 90 days of employment.
  • Must be able to read, understand and communicate effectively and clearly the English language.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Mature judgment and ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to access warehouse for research and/or inventory duties.
Preferred
  • Preferred 3 years of experience and to be familiar with Government Contracting.

The work environment is an office setting, where employee should be familiar with common office equipment such as printers, copiers, and fax machines. Work is mostly performed from a sedentary posture. The employee is regularly required to hear, talk, sit, and use hands and fingers to operate a keyboard and phone. The employee may be occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and lift, handle, or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust vision.

  • This position is subject to federal or company requirements regarding COVID-19 vaccination or regular testing. Details to be provided by the hiring manager. Employees are expected to comply with all current and future federal and company requirements.
DOT COVERED/SAFETY-SENSITIVE ROLE REQUIREMENTS
  • This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation "safety-sensitive" functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Hires and supervises direct reports. Current staff of 11 Supply Technicians.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
