PROCESS TECHNICIAN

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Set-up, install, adjust, repair, test, calibrate, and may operate production line machinery.
  • Troubleshoot machinery and equipment as needed.
  • Implement programs to standardize and minimize production changeovers and machine downtime.
  • Install mold-printing board in machine and tighten thumbscrews or insert wedges to secure it.
  • Observe thermometer and turn steam valve to maintain specified temperature in melting hopper.
  • Open valve or start pump to fill hopper of depositing unit with fluid.
  • Start machine and turn handwheels to synchronize flow from depositing spouts with speed of mold board as it passes beneath spouts for filling.
  • Weigh formed products for adherence to specifications and regulate spouts to increase or decrease flow accordingly.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as needed.
  • Work a day or night shift depending on schedule.

Do You Have…?
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Knowledge of and/ or previous experience in blow molding, injection molding or extrusion molding.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge with an understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electronics.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong technical aptitude, creative, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Team-spirit and a proactive "can-do" mentality.
  • Self-motivation with a results-oriented mindset.

Preferred
  • Technical certification in maintenance or related field.
  • 3-5 Years of Machine Operations experience (Injection Blow Molding/Plastics Manufacturing).

  • Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and demands.
  • Use sound judgement and be able to work efficiently in stressful situations.
  • Read and understand safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions, and procedures.
  • Work a day or night shift depending on schedule.

Do you have the Physical Stamina to…?
  • Stand and walk for most of the work shift.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, climb or balance.
  • Lift and/or move up to 45 pounds and occasionally more with assistance from equipment.

Work Environment

Exposure to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles; extreme heat, and a loud noise level.
