RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client in search of a Platform Engineer (Networking) in Denver, CO.Key Tasks:

• Providing security and network support for physical networking and firewall services
• Ensuring network reliability and availability through well-planned and implemented solutions
• Delivering network and security infrastructures
• Developing, maintaining, and supporting networks in NSX-V/NSX-T
• Implementing networking and VXLAN technologies
• Monitoring the automation of network deployment and configuration, along with the integration of infrastructure (computer/storage) automation
• Configuring and monitoring network security layers
• Monitoring integration with other software-defined networking technologies
• Improving network manageability and scalability
• Supporting the operations and maintenance of the VMware virtual infrastructure
• Maintaining VMware vROps and reporting for confirmation, troubleshooting, and capacity planning

Fortinet Firewall:

• Creating and administering FortiGate Firewall Policies
• Creating and administering site to site VPN tunnels, SSL and IPSec VPN tunnels by using FortiGate firewalls is a must
• Create new ways to solve existing production security issues
• Configure and install firewalls and intrusion detection systems
• Perform vulnerability testing, risk analyses and security assessments
• Develop automation scripts to handle and track incidents
• Collaborate with colleagues on authentication, authorization, and encryption solutions
• Evaluate new technologies and processes that enhance security capabilities
• Test security solutions using industry standard analysis criteria
• Respond to information security issues during each stage of a project's lifecycle
• Administer changes in software, hardware, facilities, telecommunications, and customer needs
• Identify and facilitate the improvement activities for improving the services

REQUIREMENTS:

Advanced firewall networking knowledge including:

• 10+ years of experience with network certifications from Cisco, Fortinet and/or VMware
• Cisco ASA/Firepower (moderate)
• Fortinet (advanced/Senior knowledge, including ddos, IPs, vpn, analysis, monitoring, HA configuration)
• Knowledge of SD-WAN (Software Defined Wide Area Network)
• Knowledge of Equinix Cloud Exchange
• VIRTUAL FORTINET implementation with NSX-T in PacketHost/equinixMetal, IBM, Oracle, etc.
• VMware NSX-V (high/senior - not -a lot- to know here [its simple])
• VMware NsX-T (high/ senior - needs to understand vxlan, Geneve, and transition from NSX-V to NSX-T
• VMware NSX-T 3.x usage of IPS and DDOS
• Extensive monitoring knowledge for bandwidth, link status, switch health status, and routine maintenance activities

Advanced switching knowledge:

• Complete OSI model, excellence in layer 1-3 knowledge
• Cisco layer 2 switching for top of rack (2560-3750, nexus)
• Cisco Nexus 9k and VPC
• Mellanox Ethernet switching (Ethernet switching, MLAG, ISL, Mesh networking, failover)
• Leaf/edge, Spine, edge, leaf design (general design applicable to overall network design)
• STP/RSTP/MSTP (all varieties of spanning tree)
• LACP/QOS and traffic prioritization.
• Extensive monitoring knowledge for switch health and capacity evaluation

Other preferred experience:

• Excellent VMware networking skills including distributed switching, nsx-v, nsx-t including newest 3.x version
• Excellent knowledge of isolation, security
• Medium/advanced knowledge compliance requirements and structure
