Job Summary:

La Rabida is currently recruiting Physical Therapists to join our team in Chicago, IL. We are a small children's acute care hospital focused on treating complex medical conditions, chronic illnesses, developmental disabilities, and abuse and trauma.

The Physical Therapist is responsible for the evaluation and treatment of motoric dysfunction within the context of pediatric chronic illness and developmental disabilities. Services are provided to inpatient outpatient and physician clinics.

Essential Physical Therapy Functions: What we need from you:

A Master's degree is required; Doctorate is preferred.

A current Illinois Physical Therapy license is required; Early intervention credentials are preferred.

Pediatric experience is required.

Must have at least 3+ years of physical therapy experience.

CPR required: Only certifications issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross will be accepted.

Essential Physical Therapy Functions:

Evaluation and treatment of pediatric patients with a wide range of diagnoses.

Select and administer appropriate tests/evaluation tools and interpret and document results.

Devise individualized treatment plans and implement treatment that is safe and child friendly.

Participate in hospital-wide clinics as assigned including; Serial Casting, Orthotics, Adaptive Seating, PMR, and Orthopedics Clinics.

Evaluation for specific adaptive equipment including standers, gait trainers, and posterior rolling walkers.

Participates in educational opportunities, and team-building activities, and contributes to team spirit and morale.

Communicates effectively and in a timely manner with patients, families, doctors, 3rd party payers, other professionals, etc.

Documents all appropriate patient and family in a timely and complete manner in accordance with the department, organization, and state and federal regulations.
