The Pharmacy Department at UHealth University of Miami, has an exciting opportunity for a Patient Assistance Program Pharmacy Technician.

$5,000 Sign - On Bonus

SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the pharmacist, the Patient Assistance Program pharmacy technician assists the pharmacist in pharmacy tasks related to medication Patient (medication) Assistance Programs. The pharmacy technician will work as a part of a multidisciplinary team member to identify, enroll, and maintain patients in various Patient (medication) Assistance Programs and other cost savings initiatives.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Work as a multidisciplinary team member to identify and enroll patients in through various medication Patient Assistance Programs and charity foundations.

Clearly communicate program requirements, timelines, statuses, and expectations to enrollees.

Document interactions with patients clearly and communication requirements to

Identify qualified participants prospective and retrospective Patient Assistance Programs in accordance with each program's eligibility requirements.

Stay update to date to new program requirements, eligibility criteria and maintain compliance for all patients within our health system.

Accurately maintains organized records and files for all patients enrolled into PAP programs

Responsible for daily intake and re-distribution of medicines for the program.

Maintains inventory of all medication receipts and manages inventory of product and detailed record keeping of inventory

Audit patient claims for appropriate billing methods for Patient Assistance Program administered medications.

Must be a self-starter with ability to prioritize tasks and organize time to meet priorities in a timely manner

Provides routine reports to pharmacy management team on project numbers

Assist in projects and initiatives for cost savings for pharmacy department

Perform other pharmacy and administrative tasks as necessary.

May serve as a team lead or subject matter expert to other employees.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Has broad and deep knowledge of patient assistance programs area as well as related areas
  • Demonstrates sustained high level of proficiency in all aspects of job
  • Able to work mathematical calculations accurately
  • Knowledge of medical/pharmacy terminology.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of patient data.

Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Florida Department of Health
