Job location: Medical Center (Charlottesville, VA)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent
Experience: No experience required
Licensure: American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS Certification required. Certified to practice as a Nurse Aide in the Commonwealth of Virginia or must meet one of the following five (5) criteria (required):
(1) Successful completion of the UVa PCT Education Program.
(2) EMT-B or above certification with 3 years EMT experience. Candidate must successfully complete a written exam and must successfully demonstrate clinical skills during 6 month probationary period.
(3) Documented proof of at least 1 year of recent (within past 2 years) experience in a similar PCT role from an outside institution. Candidate must successfully complete a written exam and must successfully demonstrate clinical skills during 6 month probationary period.
(4) Currently enrolled student nurses who have successfully completed the Medical/Surgical Clinical Experience and Didactic are exempt from the Certified Nurse Aide requirement.
(5) RN-A who is waiting to retake the NCLEX exam. Must pass NCLEX exam the second time within 90 days.
Valid Virginia Driver's License (VADL) may be required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires frequently bending/stooping and driving (Home Health Aide only). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs and > 100lbs (Home Health Aide only). May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
COVID Vaccination Requirement
Due to the scope of President Biden's Executive Order 14042 issued in early September, all University employees, including remote employees, must receive their final vaccination dose by January 4, 2022, unless they have a University-approved religious or medical exemption. The University has updated policy SEC-045 to reflect these new requirements.
If hired by the Academic Division, excluding School of Medicine, School of Nursing, UVA Physicians Group, and the Health Systems Library, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination or be willing to be vaccinated by January 4, 2022. Academic employees may apply for a University-approved medical or religious exemption.
