Ellison 16 is a thirty-six-bed unit devoted to the care of the acutely ill medical patient. The patient population on this unit includes a diverse mix of medical diagnoses requiring complex nursing care.
Under the direction of a registered nurse (RN), the PCA Student assists the multi-disciplinary health care team in clinical support functions to promote a safe, compassionate patient care environment. PCA assists multi-disciplinary health care team by assisting patients with daily living needs, monitoring & reading vital signs, drawing blood, obtaining EKGs. Must be able to work day/night rotation.
Shift: 20 hours, rotating day/night shift, weekends and holidays included
Certification as aNursing Assistant at time of hire or enrolled and/or completed a professionalnursing program and able to complete the PCA skills/tasks list. Completionof HS Diploma or equivalent. Strong communication skills, ability tolift/transport patients are required. Acute care PCA experience is stronglypreferred.
