About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of Development, the Part-Time Development Communications and Stewardship Coordinator provides tactical and strategic support for the fundraising and engagement efforts of the Sturm College of Law Advancement Team. The Coordinator will join a group of established fundraising professionals and help to ensure timely writing, design, and distribution of alumni and donor communications and stewardship materials including e-communications.

These are non-benefited, part-time positions not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design email solicitations, invitations, and alumni newsletters aligned with the unit's alumni and development communications strategy and calendar.
  • Collaborate with the Sturm College of Law's Advancement and Marketing & Communications teams to enhance social media presence as it relates to alumni and donor engagement.
  • Partner with major gift officers, central stewardship staff, and unit faculty and staff to support donor stewardship efforts.
  • Support preparation of impact and stewardship reports for donors.
  • Provide support to staff that may include coordinating data requests, compiling prospect and donor data, managing vendor relationships, providing input on copy and design elements, proofreading, tracking budget and results, etc.
  • Other communications and administrative duties as assigned.

  • Highly ethical and able to maintain confidential information with discretion.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills that help foster and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, donors, alumni, parents, and volunteers.
  • Must manage time well, particularly while managing competing priorities.
  • Willingness to take initiative, keep a positive attitude, and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Serve as a collaborative partner to Advancement and Sturm College of Law colleagues to foster strategic, effective, and collaborative advancement practices.
  • Model "One DU" leadership.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 2 years of professional experience in a non-profit, sales, or education setting.
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with collaboration/project management software such as Teams, Asana, etc.
  • Experience with graphic design.
  • Experience in donor stewardship in a non-profit or higher-education environment.
  • Skills in content development and writing for digital platforms.
Working Environment:
  • Standard office environment
  • Noise level is quiet to moderate
Physical Activities:
  • Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period
  • Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs. with assistance
Work Schedule
Appx. 20 hours per week during DU's business hours (Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.); some nights and weekends as required for events; not to exceed 1,000 hours per calendar year. Remote work optional.

Hourly Range:
The hourly range for the position is $21.50-$24.50

The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate's sex or any other protected status.
