The University of Iowa Parking & Transportation department is seeking a Parking Field Services Officer II. This position patrols campus to ensure compliance with university parking regulations.

Duties to Include:

  • Patrol campus to enforce motorist and bicycle parking regulations, issues parking violations through operation of electronic tickets writers; uses independent discretion when enforcing parking regulations.
  • Provide assistance to motorists and hospital patients to locate their stored or lost vehicles.
  • Analyze and resolve campus parking issues that impact faculty/staff/students and public.
  • Operate License Plate Recognition system.
  • Screen, clear, and secure lots prior/during special events.
  • Ability to work in a variety of environments including high traffic public areas, low lit areas, and exposure to extreme weather conditions.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 2nd shift 2:30PM-11:00PM (overtime as required for special events (i.e., athletic events, concerts, etc.)

About Parking & Transportation:

The Parking and Transportation Department provides and supports access, mobility, and transportation services to faculty, staff, students, patients, and visitors of The University of Iowa. The department consists of five operating units: Cambus, Commuter Programs, Fleet Services, Facility Operations, and Parking Services. These units collaborate to provide a broad range of parking and transportation options and services.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements
  • Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent, and;
  • Any combination of public contact experience and/or college or university level course work which is equivalent to three years of full-time employment.
  • Possession of a valid U.S. driver's license.
License Requirements
  • A valid driver's license is required, as well as an ability to meet University of Iowa Driving Policy.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Knowledge of University of Iowa Campus and locations of various parking facilities.
  • Customer service/public contact experience.
  • Ability to adapt, prioritize and organize multiple tasks.
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with people from various and diverse backgrounds and cultures.
