How you can make a bigger difference:

The Early Childhood team supports children and families and promotes wellness through collaboration, advocacy and empowerment. We value the diverse cultural backgrounds of our children and families and join in celebrating the individual family and cultural connections that we bring with us to our shared goal of collaboration, community and learning.

The Parent Advocate will be available to parents of the clients of the Brownsville Child Development Center. The parent advocate will provide services in accordance with the service plan which include: orientation for new admissions, assistance with advocacy, benefits, entitlements, education, treatment and discharge planning.

Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Attend Parent Advisory Council meetings as determined by the program needs and clinical director.
  • Develop and coordinate program events and activities.
  • Attend staff and other program meetings to present initiatives derived from the Parent Advisory Council.
  • Attend to other Program Operations issues when agenda items pertain to their role.
  • In coordination with the clinical director and treatment team, assist parents with an array of services based on their needs. This may include involvement with care coordination and collaboration with outside service providers including schools, legal and doctors.
  • Provide general support for families whose youngster is moving towards discharge.
  • Assist with the Performance Improvement initiatives, as appropriate.
  • Facilitate groups
  • Documents services provided in a timely manner
  • Assist with data collection and tracking
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The Jewish Board is currently looking for talented individuals of all cultures, religions, races, and gender expressions with the following qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalency.
