Your Role:

MilliporeSigma has an opening as a Packer/Shipper at our Norwood Distribution Operations location. You will work and partner with key functional areas including Planning, Finance, Customer Service, & Manufacturing.

  • Load and unload freight
  • Operate required equipment to produce documents for workload, locate, move, deliver or return all required materials to proper areas
  • Prepare materials for shipment
  • Accurately document all movement of materials
  • Audit inventory locations to maintain inventory and location accuracy
  • Follow procedures to complete full location audits, verify chemicals, catalog number, lot number, special requests information, unit size, and weights against order documentation found in packing instructions
  • Print and apply all required labels and markings to box to comply with hazardous materials regulations, condense, straighten and maintains warehouse areas
  • Report unsafe or potentially unsafe hazards to team leads or any member of management
  • Use a powered pallet jack and manual material handling equipment, receive material from outside vendors,
  • Pack hazardous items for shipment to customer, scan or meters product into the shipping system as well as pack the material, following established procedures and instructions while complying with hazard regulations
  • Prepare materials for shipment, verify that all the appropriate markings and labels are present all packages to comply with company procedures and DOT, IATA, and IMO regulations, making corrections when necessary
  • Perform physical inventory and cycle count activities as well as investigate and resolves stock-keeping errors or other discrepancies
  • Process work orders and material requests for staging and stocking according to pre-assigned schedule

Physical Attributes:
  • Sit, stand, walk, reach above the shoulder, stoop, kneel, twist, and crouch, and be able to stay on your feet for eight hours
  • Talk, hear, and smell.
  • Lift and/or move up to 75 pounds unassisted and over 75 pounds assisted
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work in cold room environments
  • Type at a computer keyboard and read CRTs/computer monitors
  • Working near moving mechanical parts (Conveyors, powered industrial vehicles)
  • Wear appropriate protective equipment including gloves and safety glasses

Who You Are:

Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years' experience working in Microsoft Office
  • 2+ years' experience using Warehousing Computer Systems is required (Oracle, SAP)
  • Current Certifications in Forklift or Dangerous Goods Shipping
  • 2+ years' experience with warehouse shipping methods and procedures
  • Inventory cycle count experience
  • Previous experience with equipment and tools utilized in shipping, receiving, and warehousing operations including but not limited to forklift, stacker, pallet jacks, hand truck, postage meter machines preferred
  • Communication, orally and in writing must be at a sufficient level to perform all job duties.
  • Able to perform basic math functions accurately
