Operations IT is a global IT capability supporting the Global Operations organisation. We business partner with Operations capability areas: Pharmaceutical Technology Development, Manufacturing & Global Engineering, Quality Control, Sustainability, Supply Chain, Logistics and Global External Sourcing and Procurement. THIS IS WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Senior Business Analyst role provides a unique opportunity to play a critical role in helping to transform the business through analyzing complex business and system opportunities. These agile resources help bridge the gap between the business and other IT teams in our organization to improve efficiency. They proactively seek out opportunities to enhance and improve processes and technology solutions in line with strategic goals, ensuring that the solutions delivered to the business are efficient and effective, meeting the customer experience expectations.

The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for maintaining a deep understanding of the business in multiple functional areas, as well as understanding the application landscape and capabilities. They are responsible for analyzing the business process, leading process and technical discussions, facilitating solution definition, and successfully integrating business processes, roles and technology to ensure business objectives are met. In addition to identifying new solutions, the Senior Business Analyst will proactively find ways to improve current processes/solutions, ensuring they are fully optimized and scalable.

The role will partner with Sr. Business Partners/Business Partners to ensure the quality of business cases, oversee business process design and ensure that proposed solutions meet established AstraZeneca quality and compliance standards and customer experience needs.

The Senior Business Analyst operates with a high level of interactive communication to set clear direction for others, demonstrating high levels of inclusion and cultural sensitivity. In addition, the Senior Business Analyst will lead and mentor other Business Analysts to develop their skills, drive consistent ways of working across our organization and share best practices in relevant communities of practice.

YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE

The Business Analyst is expected to perform at Expert level in the following:

  • Understand and prioritize business requirements from multiple stakeholders on an enterprise level to assess and define business need and area for improvement.
  • Interpret business requirements and simplify them for easy analysis, solution design and decision making positively impact/solve major risks/issues. In addition, being highly responsive to changing business priorities.
  • Work with Business and IT Leadership Teams and other regional/site stakeholders to propose and deliver solutions to achieve agreed outcomes, ensuring that solutions fulfil their future strategic needs and challenges.
  • Shape and define business cases, producing detailed business justification for investment including ROI and benefits realization.
  • Strategically lead design sessions with the business and implementation team to identify functional and technical requirements
  • Work with colleagues across the BTG and C4Es, (e.g., architects and engineers) across functions or Internationally to identify the capabilities required to ensure outcomes/requirements are clearly understood and can be delivered.
  • Facilitate and lead design sessions with the business and implementation team to identify functional and technical requirements
  • Defining project scope and goals for large projects that deliver or support delivery of effective solutions. Setting a budget and schedule.
    • Drive the collation of information from relevant sources for analysis and reporting relevant data trends for informed decision making for major positive business impact.
    • Hands on leadership, planning, coordination, and delivery of projects using both traditional and agile delivery approaches.
    • Accountable for the delivery of projects and programs including resolving issues, escalations, and identify ways to mitigate risks.

Education, Qualifications, and Experience:

Essential:
  • Rich experience of bio-pharma industry with strong knowledge and background in Cell Therapy and new modalities in the industry
  • Experience of identification and implementation of innovative technology solutions
  • Evidence of leading and developing innovative solutions
  • A proven track record of delivering results
  • Experience of building high value business cases & mobilizing high value investments
  • Experience of leading teams with a demonstrable track record of motivational and achievement oriented leadership
  • Experience of managing third party suppliers and have strong network and consulting skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong influencing, networking and team working skills
  • High level awareness of developments in the Information Technology marketplace
  • Demonstrate strong relationship building skills with the ability to influence others to achieve objectives
  • Proficiency in planning, change management and problem solving and able to resolve issues of a highly complex and strategic nature
  • Proven ability to relate and respond to business needs in an IT environment
  • Ability to manage negotiations, expectations and solutions across complex groups
  • High School Diploma

Desirable:
  • Practical usage of Agile Methodology
  • Experience of working in a global organization with complex/geographical context
  • Pharmaceutical business awareness/business domain knowledge
  • Cross industry business awareness/business domain knowledge
  • Bachelor's degree
