SUMMARY

Plans, directs and controls all Concrete activities for relevant area including; production, distribution & quality control. Responsible for securing a favorable return on Company's assets under their control, subject to Corporate policies and with the services and facilities of the Corporate staff. Reports to District Production Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assesses present and future needs, trends, problems and profit opportunities within area of responsibility and makes appropriate recommendations to take advantage of opportunities or affect corrective actions.
• Develop distribution strategies that are consistent with the long-term goals of all the regions.
• Must work successfully with the other members within the Ready Mix, Cement and Aggregates teams in developing plans.
• Insures daily coordination between sales, distribution, production, and quality control, to satisfy customer requirements and job specifications.
• Develops, recommends and receives approval for profit plans (including sales forecasts and operational budgets). Implements and monitors objectives on an ongoing basis.
• Participates in formulation of short and long-range sales forecast plans for operational objectives with periodic status reviews prior to plans.
• Develops and recommends capital plans. Implements and reviews ongoing contracts, purchase orders, appropriations and expenditure requests. Insures that approved plans and policies are clearly understood by affected personnel.
• Develops, recommends and receives approval of appropriate salary plan and structure.
• Establishes rapport with major contractors and represents the Company's goodwill in all activities.
• Coordinates and implements management development and necessary training programs for all employees under his/her responsibility.
• Implements and directs the Company's employee relations activities, safety program, and EEO/AAP plans and objectives.
• Develops and implements an empowerment approach in which decision-making is relegated to the lowest competent level. Providing an atmosphere of teamwork over the individual.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS

• Requires a through knowledge of all operations including; sales, production, distribution, quality control and pricing.
• Education and experience to include a college degree in a related field and/or ten (10) years management, supervisory or relevant experience in the industry.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements

• Pass required physical and drug screen.
• Ability to travel long distances by car or other commercial means
• Ability to work in inclement weather.
• Ability to climb as high as 100 feet from the ground.
• Ability to stoop, crawl, reach, bend and kneel as required.
• Ability to walk on uneven surfaces.
• Ability to operate computer and calculator as required.
• Must be able to perform duties in a safe manner and wear all required safety equipment.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

• Must be tolerant to exposure of dust and extreme temperatures and work in a safe manner. This job requires the wearing of hard-hat, safety glasses, and possibility of steel toed shoes and hearing protection.
