SUMMARY
The Operating System Deployment Administrator provides support to the Defense Health Agency (DHA) at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. This position thoroughly evaluates, validates, and deploys application packages and validation cases.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Thoroughly evaluates, validates, and deploys application packages and validation cases. Documents and provides evaluation results. Ensures packages provide detailed logs.

As required, works with site administrators to troubleshoot package deployments, removals, and modifications.

Creates desktop and server images utilizing technologies such as Business Desktop Deployment (BDD), Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT), Windows Deployment Services (WDS), Windows Pre-installation Environment (WinPE), Windows Automated Installation Kit (WAIK), and Pre-Boot Execution Environment (PXE).

Assists with migrating user files and settings using migration tools, such as Microsoft User State Migration Tool (USMT).

Creates desktop and server images utilizing technologies such as BDD, MDT, WDS, WinPE, WAIK, and PXE.

Creates, implements, and deploys images for enterprise workstations and servers.

Develops and documents processes to deploy zero-touch images (ZTI) for an enterprise environment utilizing SCCM OSD. Maintains and updates imaging documentation.

Create custom OSD Task Sequences utilizing Microsoft scripting technologies and components, such as PowerShell, VBScript, WMI, .NET and XML for captured images.

Assesses and validates non-standard hardware / software, to include new enterprise SCCM OSD related products, to ensure operability in the enterprise; provide a report on results.

Provides enterprise administrators with current drivers for assigned hardware within the OSD process.

Ensures appropriate drivers are used for assigned hardware. Adds, distributes and installs images.

Provides senior level technical support for troubleshooting of OSD related issues.

Sends notifications to customers and groups prior to and after implemented requests or modifications.

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of four (4) years' relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education / experience. Experience working in or with Defense Health Agency or other military medical environment. Experience leading or supporting one or more SCCM implementation projects.

Knowledge of end-to-end application architecture with awareness of hardware, operating systems software, application programs, or network
Advanced knowledge of programming patterns
Highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Excellent customer service skills with ability to be self-motivated
Extremely detail-oriented with ability to quickly grasp business needs and issues
Exhibits leadership qualities such as facilitating conference calls, managing expectations and coordinating deliverables
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Ability to adhere to regularly-scheduled business hours

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION
IAT-II certification in one of the following: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP
MCSA or MCSE
ADP II Position of Trust prior to commencing work
Must be a US Citizen

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professiona1journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.
