Position Summary:

OR Assistant I is under the direct supervision of the OR Charge Nurse, assists with transporting patients for surgery, stocking and preparing the OR Rooms with surgical supplies and equipment, organizing storage areas, maintaining supply levels and pulling supplies for upcoming surgical cases. Assists the charge nurse with other duties necessary to organize the workflow in the Operating Room, as assigned. Provides transportation assistance as needed for Post Anesthesia Care Unit.

Education/Work Experience:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.

2. Minimum of one (1) year experience in an Operating Room or Labor and Delivery unit

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of Standard office equipment

Knowledge of a sterile environment, preferred.

Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively and courteously with patients, visitors, and other members of the health care team.
