Job Description:


Binghamton University's Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences Division of Physical Therapy, located at the newly renovated, state-of-the art health sciences campus in Johnson City, New York, is hiring for its Doctor of Physical Therapy program and invites applicants for a full-time, campus-based, 10-month faculty appointment. The position encompasses teaching, innovation, and clinically-driven scholarship.


The Division of Physical Therapy is currently seeking a research focused faculty member with a history of grant funded scholarship. The successful candidate would be expected to utilize existing facilities and equipment within their research program. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in our Division or Decker College for the purposes of establishing a teaching record to prepare for promotion and tenure. The candidate will be assigned courses on their area of expertise. In addition to teaching and scholarship, the successful candidate will also be expected to participate in student coaching/advising, as well as service at the Division, College and University levels.


Faculty rank, tenure-track options, and salary are dependent upon the successful candidate's experience and qualifications.



Requirements:


Qualifications:


  • Possess a terminal academic degree (PhD, EdD, DSc)
  • Successful history of grant funded research and/or potential to obtain extramural funding.
  • Research experience in rehabilitation, biomechanics, engineering, bioengineering, medical engineering, motor control or similar fields.
  • Content expertise in human movement/motion analysis, motor control, or in diagnosis/impairment areas including but not limited to balance and falls, older adults, Parkinson's disease, concussion, ACL rupture/reconstruction/rehabilitation, spinal biomechanics. Other similar and related fields or specializations could be considered.
  • Possess or be eligible to possess a license to practice physical therapy in any US state or territory.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Possess teaching experience, especially in an accredited physical therapy program.
  • Postdoctoral training.
