The Office Coordinator I provides administrative and clerical support in coordinating the activities of the hospice program.
Promptly and courteously answers and screens phone calls for the office or department; routes calls as appropriate within established customer service guidelines; accurately records messages and delivers to the appropriate party.
Greets visitors, guests, and patients promptly and courteously; ascertains their needs and provides assistance in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Promptly sorts, opens and distributes mail.
Creates and diligently maintains a variety of confidential files in accordance with established policies and procedures
Monitors supply levels and orders accordingly.
Receives and verifies accuracy/completeness of patient referral information and promptly notifies RN of referral then enters is into the computer system.
Diligently verifies payment source/coverage.
Maintains timelines for charge entry by all coders and follows up on billing and insurance questions.
Works with outside departments to insure complete documentation for all services performed
The ideal Office Coordinator is organized, detail-oriented and has good communication skills.
