This is a temporary, part-time, hourly, non-benefits eligible position working 19 hours or less per week. Position is expected to end one year from start date.

Educational and Experience Requirement:

Associates Degree in the medical field or a related field. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Medical Technician, or related license or certification. Two years of experience in the medical or a related field. Three years experience working in a nursing simulation lab preferred. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position:

Assists lab staff and simulation faculty in daily operations. Maintains equipment and supplies including the patient simulators, and schedules and prepares for student learning activities and skills lab classes. Assists and oversees evening and weekend lab practice.

Primary Responsibilities:

Assists full-time staff in maintaining the laboratory equipment and inventory. Responsible for the care and safe use of all equipment and supplies. Assists with scheduling and managing work flow in the skills, simulation, and practice labs. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Other Specifications:

Must have knowledge of basic anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, inventory procedures, and recordkeeping procedures. Basic computer software knowledge and application required. Basic knowledge of video recorder and digital camera required. Position requires the ability to communicate orally and in writing. Must work effectively and collaboratively with nursing faculty, staff and students. Takes initiative and has ability to work independently. Position requires the ability to lift and transfer 50-75 pounds (request assistance for heavier loads). Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
