Job Description

Position Summary: The Night Custodian is responsible for the daily custodial and janitorial maintenance operation of an assigned facility or grounds. Must be available to work graveyard shift start time between 4pm and 7pm, finishing between 12am and 3am.

Salary: $15.74 Per Hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Night Custodian responsibilities Includes the following and other duties as assigned:

• Works directly with the Custodial Supervisor to maintain and improve custodial conditions at assigned locations.
• Responsible for maintaining records as needed.
• Responsible for meeting productivity objectives and managing time effectively.
• Inspects vehicles, trailers, and custodial/floor care equipment to determine need for maintenance or repair
• Responsible for ensuring assigned buildings are secured and locked at all times.

Keeps Environment Maintained

Clean and sanitize assigned areas; Operate mechanical custodial equipment (power washer, auto scrubber, carpet extractors etc.); Performs preventative maintenance on floors and restores hard surfaces and floors through bi-annual scrub and coat process

Ensure Safe Workplace

Implement health, safety, and security procedures as outlined by Goodwill of the Olympics and Rainier Region; Ensures all employees are using cleaning products and equipment in an appropriate manner.

Demonstrates Professional Behavior

Exhibits behavior of a person in a leadership role. Build and maintain good rapport with students, staff, general public, and colleagues.

Qualifications:

• 1-3+ years experience in related field
• Knowledge and experience operating both hand and mechanical equipment necessary for the job
• Maintains effective working relationships with customers and co-workers and a strong desire to surpass expectations
• Is organized and meets deadlines
• Punctual and has regular attendance
• ValidWA state drivers license strongly desired
• Must be available to work nights and for overnight trips to jobsites, to be communicated to team members at least 4 weeks in advance

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
