We are hiring a board-certified Physician- Neurologist to join our team of talented professionals who provide healthcare services to our U.S. military and their families at Evans Army Community Hospital located at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, CO.

  • Status: Independent Contractor - Full-time
  • Rate: $210/hour, plus $10,000 Sign On or Relocation Bonus
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm (40 hours/week), with (off-site) on-call
  • Period of Performance: current contract ends November 2027, with possible contract renewal.
  • Start Date: Pending clinical privileges/security clearance, which can take 6-8 weeks.
  • Malpractice is covered by the Government.
The Physician - Neurologist must have the following qualifications:

Degree/Education: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.). Successful completion of ACGME approved Neurology Medical Residency.
Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support: Basic Life Support (BLS) (Course C) and Advance Life Support (ALS) through American Heart Association of the American Red Cross. Employees are required to complete all in-services, computer-based training, or competency-based trainings that are deemed necessary by the facility and the DoD.
Experience: Have at least 24 months of neurology experience within the last 36 months.
Board Certification: Current board certification in adult Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry (ABPN).
Licensure/Registration: Employee also must maintain appropriate level of continuing education hours consistent with their state licensure requirements.

Job duties are:

Examine, diagnose, and treat diseases and disorders of the nervous system.
Outpatient Services. Provide outpatient services for patients as scheduled by the Government.
Inpatient Services. Shall provide inpatient care.
Provide immediate evaluation and management of emergency problems as they occur.
Capable of performing lumbar punctures.
Capable of performing and interpreting nerve conduction studies and electromyography.
Capable of performing evoked potentials and electroencephalograms.
Capable of providing chemo denervation (such as botulinum toxin injections) for common neurological conditions.
Prepare all records and reports as may be required in support of services rendered and as required by the MTF.
