GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

The Network Technician will provide timely assistance to users experiencing problems with or needing workstations, printers, and other network related tasks. Provide audio visual support for our end user community.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide excellent customer service

Provide break/fix support for networked and stand alone devices

Provide setup and installation services for networked devices using defined standards

Utilize stored information and documentation to help resolve issues

Prioritize and escalate problems within given guidelines

Maintain proper shift coverage for answering calls

Assume on-call responsibilities. Provide after hours, holiday and weekend support to cover shifts and on-call rotation.

Occasionally lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds

Initiate and maintain in-house technical documentation

Assist with the upgrade of hardware and software

Relocate end-user computers and peripheral hardware, participate in the execution of large deployment projects and/or departmental moves

Maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for all assigned conference rooms to avoid the failure of audio-visual equipment and systems.

Maintain an inventory of replacement equipment and bulbs appropriate for each assigned conference room to allow for quick responsiveness in the event of an equipment failure.

Provide quick and customer-friendly service to all customers seeking audio-visual assistance, maintenance, or advice.

Install, test, and support on-site audio-visual systems for internal clients and research projects.

Work with equipment vendors to resolve technical issues in a timely manner.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The Technician will work within an office setting, patient rooms, communications closets, and other storage/operations-related areas. The Technician may be required to work during non-business hours when necessary. Some local travel is required. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications
Associate's degree or technical courses or certification in computer maintenance and audio visual. Familiarity with personal computers, laptops, handheld devices, printers, network equipment, and audio visual and cabling experience preferred.

SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

Must have the ability to work as a team, to determine priorities accordingly, to provide appropriate and complete maintenance to all users and to accurately document work completed or in progress. Excellent customer service skills are required.
