Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a 49 bed Level IV unit. The unit is a regional referral center for both mothers and babies. The staff cares for neonates as young as 24 weeks gestation up through full term infants with complex congenital anomalies. The full range of services for neonates is provided including neonatal care immediately after birth, newborn therapeutic hypothermia, and high frequency oscillatory ventilation. The unit is also a part of the Maryland Regional Neonatal Transport Team providing efficient ground and air transportation services for this young population.

Shifts: 12 Hour Day Shifts; some weekends

Qualifications:

  • MSN/DNP from an accredited Neonatal NP program required.
  • Active Maryland RN and NNP certification required
  • New Graduates that do not have active NNP certification will need a letter from MBON approving practice as a Nurse Practitioner Graduate.
  • Active BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted
  • No NP work experience required, in lieu of NP work experience must have 3 years of related neonatal RN work experience
  • Work experience in the Neonatal ICU specialty is preferred.
