Are you our next Payroll Analyst?

The Payroll Analyst will perform all functions and processes related to U.S. and Canadian payrolls and will partner closely with HRIS, Benefits, HR Business Partners and Accounting to ensure accuracy, timeliness and compliance of the payroll process. Responsibilities will include executing the day to day processing of payroll, responding to and coordinating audit and reporting requests, researching and resolving payroll inquiries and issues, and providing compliance guidance on North American payroll matters.

What will you do?

  • Execute the day-to-day processing of payroll, which will include reviewing data used in the payroll process, review of time and attendance transactions and controls, running payroll, auditing payroll results, correcting errors, and distributing payroll to more than 5,000 employees. Use assigned authority to sign off/approve payroll-related items, including authorization to approve payroll funding. Responsibilities will also include distribution of court ordered deductions, withholding tax and reviewing interfaces to Mosaic applications or third parties.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners, other HR SSC areas and HR Corporate Centers of Excellence in the payroll preparation, audit and distribution process to ensure accurate pay for inputs outside of regular payroll processing such as: expatriate off-cycle and expatriate payrolls, bonus and charity. Perform research, analyze data, and resolve escalated or complex payroll inquiries and issues as assigned through the HR inquiry management process. Participate in HR projects that impact the end-to-end payroll process. Recommend and participate in the implementation of process improvements.
  • Respond to audit requests from internal and external partners and coordinate the appropriate information to comply with audit requests. Prepare and analyze payroll reporting. Work closely with internal partners to provide ad hoc payroll analysis as assigned.

What do you need for this role?
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, major in Business, Accounting, Human Resources or other Business-related major
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) preferred
  • 5+ years knowledge of US payroll processing, laws and regulations; if Bachelor's degree then 2+ years experience
  • Experience in processing Canadian payroll and understanding of Canadian payroll taxes and applicable laws preferred
  • Strong verbal, written and listening communication skills
  • Strong customer facing skills
  • Strong process management skills that ensure consistent quality of service delivery
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information
  • Ability to effectively work and create effective partnerships with candidates and employees at all levels within the organization; possesses a customer service aptitude
  • Ability to adapt to a continually changing business and work environment
  • Clear understanding of payroll processes, data review, time transactions, and payroll audit results and a willingness to enhance that experience through streamlined processes and automation
  • Knowledge and understanding of tax regulations
  • Ability to manage a payroll cycle and distribute payroll to a large number of employees across the whole organization
  • Strong organizational skills with the demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deliver results preferred
  • Strong judgement and decision-making skills preferred
  • Continuous improvement mindset preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with HR systems
  • Workday preferred
  • Kronos preferred
  • ServiceNow and other common tools used in a service center preferred
  • Visio flow charting preferred
