What You Will Be Doing 1. First point of client contact for estimating (typically after client initial contact).

2. Prepares lumber takeoffs for vendor pricing then submits to Admin Assist for distribution to bidders. Admin Assist follows up with vendors' pricing.

3. Prepares labor takeoffs and then reviews with the Project Manager and Production Manager. Obtaining current labor pricing is the responsibility of the Project Manager, Production Manager, and Estimating.

4. Estimates job duration time and equipment needs with the Project Manager to determine indirect project overhead costs to load into estimates.

5. Determines potential for material/truss/hardware substitutions with Project and Production Manager (works directly with Structural Engineers and clients for substitutions).

6. Directs the Admin Assist to distribute plans for truss estimates.

7. Answers truss vendors' questions. Involves Project Manager and Production Manager in truss vendor questions.

8. Perform actual stick counts after models with Production Manager; resolves material count discrepancies and adjust as necessary with Project and Production Managers.

9. Works in conjunction with Project Manager, Production Manager to stay current on field conditions that affect estimating.

10. Participates in the Executive Team to monitor ongoing profitability and take corrective actions when necessary.

11. Produces routine estimating status reports for management and clients.

12. Communicates with Clients as/if needed.

13. Initially must be experienced in the duties of the Production Manager.
