Job Purpose

The MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operation) Clerk is responsible for the purchasing of parts, equipment, supplies and other indirect materials to support Maintenance, Engineering and Operations. In addition, this position will also manage the storeroom and support the maintenance work order system.

Key Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty safely, satisfactorily, and in a timely manner.

  • Issues, tracks and expediates purchase orders required for maintenance, engineering and operations
  • Reconciles purchase orders receiving and inventory discrepancies
  • Works with the vendors and the AP department to ensure receipts and payments are processed accurately
  • Manages and maintains MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operation) inventory levels. Performs inventory reviews and cycle counts
  • Ensures that spare parts are made available for each Technician for each work order (Preventative and Corrective)
  • Follows and enforces storeroom best practices to optimize spare part inventory
  • Fulfills parts reservations (kitting parts) for upcoming planned work
  • • Conducts daily housekeeping procedures in the storeroom and maintains areas to 5S standard

Level of Autonomy

Limited decision making; however, this role works independently with little or no daily guidance.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in manufacturing environment
  • SAP experience is strongly preferred
  • Analytical reasoning and problem solving skills
  • Must have intermediate computer skills for data tabulation, analysis and report preparation (Excel)
  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of the organization effectively and precisely
  • Ability to multi-task and balance priorities
  • Must be very strong in accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
