Summary:
Under the supervision of a RN, the monitor technician monitors for cardiac arrhythmias, deviation in patients baseline, and changes in SP02. Monitor Technician notifies registered nurse of changes to patient status and initiates the response by the critical care team in the event of a lethal arrhythmia.
Detailed responsibilities:
• Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
• Identifies arrhythmias, deviation in patients baseline, signs of patient deterioration, and intervenes to ensure patient safety. Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
• Reports abnormal or change in patients telemetry monitoring to nursing staff/immediate supervisor and nurse manager.
