The Model Risk Analyst Sr. supports the Model Risk Management department in executing Cenlar's Model Risk Management function; reports to the VP, Model Risk Management within the Office of the Chief Risk Officer. Specifically, the individual will play a critical role in effectively utilizing key modeling, forecasting, valuation, risk measurement, and analytics systems, tools, and processes in order to provide consistent assessment, identification, monitoring, and evaluation of models. The individual plays a key role to ensure Cenlar's balance sheet and subservicing business models provide reliable forecasting capabilities to enable management to make proactive business decisions to manage risk and maximize profitability.

Responsibilities:

• Understands and adheres to the company's Model Risk Management policies, procedures, and controls, and related regulatory guidance
• Assists Model Risk Management in establishing and implementing guidelines for effective and sound model development, implementation, outcome analysis, performance monitoring and documentation by business units
• Leads independent review and challenge of conceptual soundness of models owned by business units
• Performs in-depth analytical review and testing on data, assumptions, processing, and outputs of models, and documents validation procedures and results
• Presents findings and recommendations to MRM leaders, model owners, stakeholders, and management for model enhancements
• Performs identification and categorization of candidate models or tools
• Assists MRM leaders to benchmark the company's MRM policies and procedures to industry best practice and regulatory guidance
• Streamlines manual processes where possible
• Performs other duties, projects, and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

• Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in a quantitative field such as Financial Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, or Engineering, with 2-4 years' of working experience in financial institutions, consulting firms, or regulatory agencies strongly preferred
• Bachelor's degree in an aforementioned discipline with 4+ years' of experience
• Professional designation (e.g., FRM, CFA) highly desirable
• Prior experience with financial model development and/or validation
• Knowledge of model risk management regulatory guidance (e.g., OCC 2011-12) and industry practices
• Solid knowledge of conventional, government, and non-agency mortgage products
• Experience in CECL, DFAST, FP&A, ALM, and/or valuation
• Proficient SAS, R, VBA, Python, MATLAB, and/or other programming skills
• Experienced user of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proven ability to multi-task, lead junior team members, and communicate effectively with business partners, model owners, and senior leaders
• Independent and highly motivated individual
