Ricoh is seeking a Microcode Test Engineer to join our team of talented and diverse Quality Development Engineers to develop and qualify the next generation of production and commercial printing products.

The experienced microcode test engineer will work with a global development and test team to deliver and support control unit microcode for enterprise-class high speed production and commercial printers. The test engineer must analyze requirements and utilize test methodologies to plan and execute comprehensive functional and system evaluations using both manual and automated methods.

The test engineer will operate high speed printers to perform manual testing, and will also create and execute automated tests on simulators that contribute to Integrated Unit Test and Confirmation Test phases.

The test engineer will also contribute to customer support activities to maintain high customer satisfaction.

The candidate should have a programming background and previous experience in Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Test Engineering and/or Computer Science. The candidate should have at least 2 years QA experience. Leadership competencies are also valuable for potential leadership assignments within the team.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years Quality Assurance experience
  • Experience configuring and operating mechanical hardware
  • Knowledge of server-class hardware systems and configuration
  • Operating Systems knowledge (Linux, MS Windows)
  • Experience with Selenium, Jasmine and WebDriver I/O
  • Experience with Scripting (Windows and Linux)
  • Excellent teaming skills with global development, quality assurance and customer support teams
  • Ability to provide leadership and direction within area of expertise
  • Strong technical communication skills (written, verbal, technical report creation)
  • Experience with software development repositories, test tracking repositories and bug tracking utilities
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and manage time efficiently

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with printer controllers and printer server software
  • Understanding of print data streams (IPDS, PDF, PS, etc)
  • I/O System Architecture knowledge
  • Understanding of Digital image data formats (TIFF, JPEG, GIF, etc.)
  • Server System Architecture knowledge
  • Color Science Experience
  • Understanding of image processing
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++
  • Agile Development Methodology

Education / Certification

B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Compensation Range $69,900 - $90,000

Position is bonus eligible, 6% STI
