Description:
The MGPS Financial Analyst will have primary responsibility for maintaining budgeting, productivity, planning/decision support systems and analysis of MGPS financial information under the direction of the Director of Finance. Prepare financial planning models based on organizational needs that support business decision making for capital expenditures, acquisitions and evaluating cost structures within service lines. Lead and/or participate as a member of various project teams to change/improve processes and growth/or transformation initiatives. Maintain/audit data interfaces, report generations, and cost allocations ensuring accurate reporting and reconciliation of systems used for journal entries, decision support, and planning. This includes, but is not limited to variance analysis, cost-benefit analysis, short and long-term financial modeling and statistical analysis. Adheres to MercyOne performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne.
QUALIFICATIONS

1. Maintains a professional, collaborative work environment so as to foster a positive public image for MercyOne.
2. Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of physician practice finance operations, revenue metrics and analytics, and revenue management, as normally obtained through a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or Healthcare administration (or a related field), and/or three (3) to five (5) years of medical group finance/accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
3. Must possess advanced analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and effectively communicate the analysis.
4. Knowledge of revenue cycle and accounting systems, healthcare industry issues. Epic experience strongly preferred.
5. Exhibits leadership, integration and execution skills with experience in planning, formulating, and execution of strategies with the ability to define program, process, or business objectives and scope, while also demonstrating proficiency to identify, evaluate and articulate operational opportunities, and risks, business needs/gaps, and understand customer/stakeholder interests.
6. Provide a high level of customer responsiveness and serves as a role model to encourage a commitment to customer service. A strong service orientation is required.
7. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to relate to people across all levels and diverse backgrounds.
8. Ability to handle interactions with discretion, tact and courtesy when dealing with sensitive issues and confidential information (i.e. financial/statistical data).
9. Keeps supervisor informed about important issues.
10. Demonstrates an understanding of organizational dynamics and administrative procedures and protocols.
11. Proven ability to identify, compile and present data effectively from many different sources for management decision-making.
12. Able to make independent decisions to properly handle and resolve problems.
13. Demonstrated experience and skill to work independently.
14. Demonstrated skill to meet multiple deadlines and deal with interruptions and changing priorities; demonstrated skill to prioritize and organize workload.
15. Ability to be able to detect and solve non-compliance and system issues.
16. Ability to work with outside auditors and departmental supervisors to resolve issues and ensure accuracy of financial information.
17. Possess an intermediate to expert-level understanding of Excel, Microsoft Office and Word applications.
18. Must demonstrate strong organizational skills leading a combination of direct and dotted line reporting relationships. Exhibits strong, collaborative leadership qualities that can bridge across multiple disciplines.
19. Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
20. Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission and vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.
