What You Will Contribute:


The Badger Meter Internship Program provides hands-on, real-world experience to students through projects that make a difference! In addition to your projects, you will be given the opportunity to participate in our robust Intern program focused on Badger Meter Culture, professional development, community outreach and a final capstone project.

Badger Meter is hiring a Mechanical Designer Intern. The Mechanical Designer Intern will be responsible for CAD modeling, drawing, and design work, engineering verification test support, and additional projects, tasks, and/or assignments as needed. The Mechanical Designer Intern will work heavily in CAD design and assist the Mechanical Engineering department.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Working directly with senior engineers and designers to learn industry practices and implement them in daily work
  • Checking engineering drawings, parts lists, and test sheets for accuracy and thoroughness
  • Creating and/or modifying component and assembly models and drawings using CAD
  • Conducting all design, model, and print work in PTC Creo 3.0 CAD package
  • Conducting engineering verification testing as directed by lead engineers
  • Organizing test data and presents reports back to the engineering team
  • Completing an independent design project of their own
  • Assisting the mechanical engineering department on design projects as necessary
  • Experience in or willingness to learn CREO (Solidworks experience applicable)

Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing an Associate's degree in Mechanical Design or related field
  • Intermediate computer/technical skills in Microsoft products
  • Intermediate in CAD (Creo or SolidWorks)
